Fear of Fireworks and Thunderstorms

Do fireworks and thunder send your dog scrambling under the nearest table? Try these very affective methods for calming your pooch naturally. They really do work! Both of the methods described below work by applying a gentle pressure to your dog’s chest and rib cage. This pressure can calm even a very nervous dog and provide almost instant relief. I have tried both of these methods myself and am amazed at how affective they are.

Method # 1: An Ace bandage. Yup, the kind you can buy at any drugstore. Starting wrapping the bandage around your dog’s ribcage starting right behind the front legs. Loosely wrap, stopping before you reach the end of the rib cage. You never want to put any kind of constriction on your dog’s stomach. I only recommend using the Ace Bandage method when you are with your dog and can supervise the position of the wrap. It is extremely affective.

Method #2: The Thunder Shirt. This product works very well and can be left on your dog without supervision. The Thunder Shirt is very sturdily made, looks very comfortable and allows you to control how much pressure you are applying to your dog via handy velcro straps. Thunder shirts are available wherever you find pet supplies.
