Jumping Up

Dogs jump up on us because they are happy to see us and want to be near our faces. However sweet that may sound, it is still an annoying and often dangerous behavior.

I have been advising my clients for years on the most affective way to stop jumping. Simply,  never pet or touch your dog unless he is sitting or lying down. If the dog stands up while you are petting it, pull your hands away. Ask the dog to sit/lie down and resume once they are back in the position. If you are consistent about it, your dog will completely forget to jump on you and others! It works!
